Context

Founder of the Serbian National Renewal Party, (later renamed the Serbian Chetnik Movement), which was banned by the authorities of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY) in December 1990. Appointed president of the newly founded Serbian Radical Party (SRS) in February 1991. Elected member of the Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in June 1991.
