Context

Simone Gbagbo was the First Lady and alleged leader of a common plan to keep Laurent Gbagbo in power following the 2010 presidential elections in Côte d'Ivoire. A warrant of arrest was issued against her in 2012. Côte d'Ivoire challenged the admissibility of the case, arguing she was being prosecuted domestically. On 19 July 2021, Pre-Trial Chamber II granted the Prosecution's request to vacate the warrant of arrest, terminating the proceedings.
