Context

Iyad Ag Ghaly is the leader of Ansar Dine and is alleged to have been a senior leader of Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM). He is suspected of crimes against humanity and war crimes allegedly committed in northern Mali between January 2012 and January 2013. The suspect is not in ICC custody.
