Context

Bahar Idriss Abu Garda was a commander of the United Resistance Front in Darfur. He was summoned to appear before the ICC in connection with an attack against African Union peacekeepers in Haskanita, Darfur, on 29 September 2007. Following the confirmation of charges proceedings, Pre-Trial Chamber I declined to confirm the charges on 8 February 2010, and the case was closed.
