Context
Abdallah Banda Abakaer Nourain is alleged to be responsible for war crimes committed during an attack against African Union peacekeepers at the Haskanita base in Darfur, Sudan, on 29 September 2007. He initially appeared voluntarily before the Court following a summons to appear. Subsequent proceedings led to the issuance of an arrest warrant after he failed to appear for trial. The suspect remains at large.
