The investigation covers alleged crimes against humanity committed in Burundi or by nationals of Burundi outside Burundi since 26 April 2015 until 26 October 2017. The Prosecutor is authorised to extend the investigation to crimes committed before 26 April 2015 or after 26 October 2017 if certain legal requirements are met.
